hdparm is a command in Linux that can provide you with a great deal of information about a hard drive. It is commonly used when getting hard drive serial numbers, bios versions, format information, etc…
To get this detailed information in Linux using hdparm perform the following:
hdparm -i /dev/sda
Note that you will need to specify the device path of your had drive.
