Backing up with Windows Server 2008 R2

There have been several improvement into the windows backup manager over the years. Windows server 2008 R2 has a distinct backup feature that allows you to back up and restore to a mapped network drive. This feature is not available is not available in windows server 2008 so be careful when choosing your windows distribution. There can be bandwidth limitations when using mapped network drives, so be sure to use a gigabit network when using this means of backup.
