Solaris may not have VGA enabled in the grub boot, which means you will only have the serial console to work with. A blank screen will appear only. This can be a major setback and can cause considerable problems. Luckily you can pass a parameter to the grub boot options to make sure it boots to vga mode and you get a screen.
