Restart network in Solaris without reboot

In Solaris you may need to restart the network interfaces without rebooting the host. This can be done using the “svcadm” command. This is the solaris service administrator. There are many network services as you may find. To view them all you can do “svcadm | grep network”, this will display most of them. If you make a change to a network file the one you will want to restart is the “network/physica”. So the command to restart the network in solaris is:

svcadm restart network/physical

Verify your network settings after performing this service restart.
